Happy Monday! Think of all the beauty around you and be happy!

My Monday message for today is not my own. But I cannot source it as a direct quote because I changed it.

The message came from Anne Frank, a young Jewish girl whose life was interrupted by the Holocaust. Her family hid in an attic for about 2 years. The Diary was found after the family was discovered taken to a concentration camp, where she died.

I remember reading the Diary of Anne Frank when I was in the 5th Grade. It was one of those books that all 5th graders had to read. Thanks to my brother who preceded me in school by a year, I dreaded the experience. He was not a fan of the story.

So for me, I had to wonder whether it was so bad. What I remember. . . Claustrophobia. I suffer greatly from it. the idea of being shut up in a small apartment with a lot of people having to be super quiet and still all the time without a lot of light really bothered me. I remember her talking about how irritated she was with everyone she was with. But that is about it.

And I remember it kind of not ending. We did not get a big explanation about what happened to her after they were discovered.

Still Left

As I noted,  I altered Anne Frank’s quote. It is part of my attempt to make my weekly message completely positive. Anne’s quote was “Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy.” And this quote, to me felt desperate. It was a desperation due to outside circumstances. They were living in a country where their religion could get them killed. The Nazi’s were hell bent on extermination of the Jews. And despite this, Anne Frank could see hope. But that hope was fleeting, as shown in the “still left.”

Where Happy Monday and The Law of Attraction Meet

When I began offering the Happy Monday messages, the intention I made and have stuck to, was to always post a completely positive statement to begin the week. I thought this would be a pretty easy thing to do. It seems that there are always positive quotes and advice that people are sharing.

However, this is often not the case. For example. Sometimes what might seem like a positive statement is held together by more negative statements.

Never let your circumstances hold you back from your dreams.

While this seems like a positive statement about following your dreams, it is not. Never is negative. Hold you back is negative.

I found this far too often when searching for a positive statement. And as you start paying attention, you will also notice it.

So I needed to amend this Anne Frank statement just slightly to accommodate for a completely positive thought. No conditions. No dark side.

You Are What You Think

A primary tenant of the Law of Attraction is that you are what you think. All thoughts are things. Therefore if you are thinking negative, you are attracting negative. Or, if you are thinking of things that you do not want, you are more likely to attract them, rather than what you do want.

It was pondering on this idea that I began Happy Monday as well as my previous blog, BrighterSideNow. That blog was, for me, a writing project. Or more specifically  a writing challenge. In it, I did not allow myself to write anything in the Negative. (had I been writing on BSN, that sentence would have to be written as “I required myself to write everything positive.”)

For the 4 years I wrote that blog, I explored instances of positivity vs negativity  in all aspects of life. Music, politics, entertainment, sports, religion. And frankly, you would be shocked at how few instances of true positivity you can find.

From the Desk of Albert Einstein

The Law of Attraction is one of those subjects that involves a lot of controversy. It touches on the realm of spirituality that people in science fear to tread. And they fear it because they can neither explain it or prove it.

And I would like to part this discussion with a couple very similar quotes by Albert Einstein. He was well known to question this realm.

“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”

“No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.”

These two quotes are attributed to him, though I could never source a time or event or publication where he said them. but he was known to believe that his thoughts and ideas came from outside of himself. That he would consider a subject, think about it long and hard, and then throw it out into the ether to see what came back.

If you have made it to the end of this, I would ask you to do the same. Is there a problem or issue that you have that you do not have a solution to.

Throw it out into the ether. See what comes back.

How do You Perceive That Which is Divine?

The Sunday edition of the Patriot Intel Report with Phoenix features Laura Walker. She and Phoenix hold a Question and Answer period. At this point, I have not finished listening to it. But one of the questions sparked my interest and I have decided to expand upon their discussion. (You can scroll to the bottom of this post if you want to watch the whole thing).

The question came from a devout Christian. They asked how they should come to terms with Astrology and the Mahavidyas given that their faith describes these things as demonic.

Laura’s explanations were spot on. But I thought it would be good to take a deeper look at this. It is hard to come to terms with conflicting viewpoints on the Divine. Especially when the perspective you are taught either denies or condemns conflicting viewpoints.

What is The Divine?

This could be the question of the universe. Are there realms that we cannot perceive? If we cannot see it, touch it, taste it, hear it or smell it, does it exist?

First. We collectively know that there is much out there that we cannot perceive with our 5 senses. We know that dogs can see more acutely in the dark and smell much more sensitively. We know that other animals can hear much more than we do. Though huge amounts of research has been done on that which was can perceive. But there has been a would lot less done on the things that we cannot.

We perceive the color spectrum, but do not see ultraviolet or Infrared or xray or microwave.

We hear in a specific range. The human range is commonly given as 20 to 20,000 Hz. Some dolphins and bats can hear frequencies up to 100,000 Hz. Elephants can hear sounds at 14–16 Hz, while some whales can hear infrasonic sounds as low as 7 Hz (in water).

Have you ever seen a frequency dispersion of what we touch, taste or smell? I am sure people have studied these, but there seems to be little mainstream interest.

So there is much that we do not or can not perceive in the ranges of the five senses. But what about other forces?

Magnetism? Gravity? Life Force? Spirit?

Much of what we cannot perceive has been left to science or esotericism.

And it is in these realms that we begin to imagine the Divine.

Religion and Myth – The intersection of Life and our Past

People, communities grow up with a shared past. Part of that past is their faith story. Often it is a mix between history,  stories and the spiritual beliefs that were passed down as well. These beliefs become a part of us as we grow and learn. And Hopefully lead to an understanding of the meaning of life. Why are we here.

I believe also that these stories describe a greater past understanding of the divine. Consider the major religions of today:

Each revolves around stories of people’s intersection with the divine. Were these people special in some way? Did they have a special ability to perceive the divine? Or were they simply in the right place and time for the divine to reveal itself to them? And their experience so profound that others sought to emulate it . . . learn from it . . . worship it?

And these are just 7 of the hundreds or thousands or tens of thousands of religions that have come up over the course of time.

These religions gain adherents (followers) looking to join in the footsteps of the leaders. Do many or any of them succeed in reaching the heights reached by the firsts? Maybe. But maybe not. I think that many of the organized religions have found a pathway towards divinity. I like to call it a filter. And that filter can lead to a form on enlightenment. Consider Buddhist Monks reaching Nirvana. Sufis twirling into ecstasy. Christians speaking in tongues. and so many others. But are these the ONLY way?

I like to believe that these experiences happen more often that we hear about. Instances where divine realms are touched. Where that hand of God reaches down and touches an individual. And maybe all of them are tapping into the same well of divinity, with each person unaware of the shared experience.

I personally grew up in the Christian faith. Can I say that I have had a divine christian experience? No. But I have spoken to many who believe that they have.

Do I believe that I have touched the divine outside of the Christian faith? Definitely. And Often. But not consistently. I do not go outside and say I am going to talk to God today and receive a direct answer. But I see the divine touch upon the world around me. I revel in music. And messages are revealed to me through it. I wish I could make music or play an instrument. But no. I cannot.

Getting to the Point

As I have said, I have no answer to the ultimate question of the divine and whether or not to follow a religion or what parts of that religion you need to adhere to. My experiences go beyond what I would call coincidences or what can be explained by science. Is it a divine touch. I believe so.

Standing Together

Last night while trying to fall asleep, I thought about all that was going on – caused by the death of another African American at the hands of a white police officer. And forgetting the optics, I reflected on what was happening in the wake of the event.

Notice how I bring the ocean and surfing into that. The Wake. It’s the white foam that is formed by a boat’s engine. It is the flotsam left as a wave breaks against the shore.

It’s been a few years, but another riot has happened due to the horrible acts of one human being toward another. And of course it is not just in Minneapolis – where people have looted and destroyed. Across the country, others are trying to join in the fun. In LA, a crowd destroyed a cop car. Other cities have seen similar, though maybe not as severe gathering.

I look at the event that caused this. A man went to a store and used a $20 bill to pay for something. The $20 bill was determined to be a counterfeit. Was this something he did on purpose? I often wonder what a store I go to will do if one of the $20’s I pull from an ATM makes the counterfeit machine at the register start beeping. But in this case, things went south.

And now what will be done to heal?

We have been locked in our homes for months now for the Coronavirus. A statistic that the media has ignored up to now is the number of murders and crimes that have happened in the past 3 months. Is it up? Is it down? Is it a welcome diversion from the pandemic to see news about crime on TV? A good riot to take our minds off of Netflix?

My thoughts last night were especially pointed at our President. Nothing he does will be right in the minds of the media. He speaks (or tweets), at the media erupts blaming him for the whole thing. (funny they never blamed his predecessor for the many riots under his administration).

So the headline I came up with for Trumpy to use is:

Stand Together

A leader is needed here. With a message of hope and a message that will unite us rather than divide.

And on that note . . .

I had not intended beginning my 54th year ranting about how shitty people are to each other. I have better things to do. My garden needs watering and weeding. And we are expecting thunderstorms this afternoon and this evening (I get natural fireworks for my birthday!!!). Please join me in celebrating John F. Kennedy’s 103rd birthday – and no, that doesn’t mean you get to have a meaningful 15 minutes with Marilyn Monroe. But you can also send well wishes to:

Danny Elfman, LaToya Jackson, John Hinkley Jr., Rupert Everett, Melissa Etheridge, Noel Gallagher (wow he is my age), Mel B, Daniel Tosh and a host of others. And I also like to remember that Anderson Cooper is 5 days younger than me, but still likes like he is 80 in comparison – haha.

And on an Astrology note: Take a look at today’s chart closely. Then look at the previous week’s charts. Planets are starting to spread out and interact in different ways. What do you see?
