-New Moon Phase: Begin, Set Intentions

-Aspect of the Aeon Sophia (Wisdom)

-Aspect of the Aeon Thelete: (Will/Desire): Ian, God of the East, God of Wisdom

-Sabian Symbol for the Solar-Lunar Year: “A Triangle with Wings”

SUN: 07 ARIES – a man successfully expressing himself in two realms a once

EARTH: 07 LIBRA –  a woman feeding chickens and protecting them from the hawks

One day I am going to figure out how to make an appealing looking inline textbox for this information. This is basic daily information that I have been following through Oracle Report for years. And I want it to be part of these posts. But look a little different. So if there are any WordPress gurus out there with an idea, I would love to hear it.

Planting Intentions

Before I was considering all the political machinations with the Coronavirus and the World coming to an end, I had decided that I was strongly going to focus this year on my garden and what I do with it. If you have been following Astrogardens, you have seen 2 years of what I will call me entertaining myself with my garden.

But the Zombie Apocalypse that I have talked about in the past has come to fruition with the Global shutdown. People who consider themselves “preppers” are not being looked at as if they were tin foil hat nuts. Though it happened in the winter (when nothing is growing here in the Northeast), people are now seriously wondering why they do not have a pantry full of food stocked away and a seed vault for their garden planned for Spring.

And since we are locked in for the most part, it is a good time to plan.

And What about Trees?

I do not have a huge yard. But still there are 2 large trees on it. In Front, our street is lined with ancient Lindon trees. They are a showpiece feature of our block that is well known throughout our little Borough. Starting in about April, the trees will bloom and create a virtual tunnel for our entire block. It was even chose by the Giant food stores chain a few years back to shoot a commercial that features a marching band and parade. Made us look like true Americana.

In addition, I have a huge Mulberry tree covering much of the backyard. I have a love hate relationship with that tree. When it is full, there is no more beautiful share tree with birds, chipmunks and squirrels. jumping from branch to branch. It overhangs our back porch and we love the shade. BUT . . . during the month of June it is the messiest thing imaginable. You do not walk out back with bare feet. Squish. Squish. Squish.

We used to have a third big tree in our yard. I called it the Christmas Tree that someone planted to be cool after Chistmas . . . an lo and behold it grew. When we moved in our house, It was growing beside our Chimney and over-topped that by a good 5 feet. We loved it. It was beautiful But my neighbor HATED it. I believe the real reason he hated it was because it grew over a spot on his lawn and the sap killed all his grass. So for 10 years he constantly hinted about it. My favorite of his hints was that he believed that Squirrels were jumping from that tree onto his roof . . . or he was afraid that they might. He went so far as to complain to the borough that it was a nuisance. I will talk more about that little argument later. But suffice it to say, we finally were able to remove it at almost no cost to us. In the end, it was better. Because of that tree, we were unable to have our chimney swept, and thus could not have fires in our fireplace.

I bring up my trees because part of my plan for planting this year is to plant a tree. I just do not have any idea where to put it or what I want to plant.

The idea really took root for me last year after reading a meme on Facebook that said something to the effect that one way to combat climate change was to plant a bunch of trees. It was much more insightful than that, but I did not save it. But it made me set an intention. It will be a theme that you will see here a lot over the next few months.

Another silly facebook meme I saw regarding trees was actually a DIY idea. It suggested that instead of throwing out lemon seeds (when you have fresh lemons that is) that you should throw them into some soil and turn them into house plants. Since I buy a lot of lemons (they go great in iced tea, which I make and drink at least 3 gallons of each week), I figured that it sounded like fun. So last December, I planted some.

The idea is that they are easy to care for and make a very fragrant house plant. They take 3-5 years to bear fruit, but are appealing in the meantime. So here is my first one. Since it was so easy, I am planning a doing a bunch of them. Maybe sell some, or give them away. Again, we are in the northeast. They will not last through a winter, so they will need to be potted. This will be fun.

Now this lemon tree exercise has been fun. It is a just microcosm in comparison to what it will be like to actually fulfill the idea of planting a lot of trees to save the world. And while this lofty goal sounds fun, but a little silly, I think it is something that should be pretty easy to do.

But is it? Have you ever planted a tree? Do you have any idea how to plant a tree?

Wednesday, March 25, 2020 – What is the New Moon Phase all about

New Moon – Beginnings, setting intention, initiate, set a wish or intention

Ideas, hopes, wishes, or dreams that were “seeded” during the New Moon phase

I wrote an Article about the New Moon Phase back in July

At the time of the New Moon, the Moon is located directly in between the Sun and the Earth. You might ask, :Then why do we not have an eclipse every month at the New Moon?” It has to do with the orbital plane of the Moon being different than that of the Earth to the sun. 2 times per year, they meet (at the Spring and Autumn Equinox) and can potentially offer us an eclipse.

The Moon does not generate any light itself. The bright moon is caused by the light of the Sun reflecting off its surface. So we can only see brightness on the side of the Moon that faces the sun. When the Moon is stationed in between, we see nothing but darkness.

Astrologically, it is said that the energy of the Moon is at its lowest point. It is the starting point of the lunar cycle.

Born Under the New Moon

Do you know what phase the moon was in when you were born. This is not a common piece of astrology that is looked at. In my opinion, one that is not given the importance it deserves. After discovering my own, I was able to see its influence over my life. I may talk more about that when we get to the disseminating phase (HINT HINT).

If you do not know it, it is simple to find. Go to a search engine. Search:

“Lunar Phase at Birth”

There are many sites that will give you this information. I will outline the basic lunar phase astrology for each phase in upcoming posts. But for now, we are starting

New Moon – Low Energy Phase

  • In tune with what they want
  • Try new things with Childlike wonder and innocence
  • It is a loving energy
  • Drawn to try new things and follow trends
  • They are Creative idea people
  • Aggressively go after what they want
  • Always a shiny new idea on the horizon
  • Dog like enthusiasm – like a large labrador chasing things around

But

  • Energy can bee fleeting
  • Fizzles out before its done
  • Dog like enthusiasm like ADHD – jumping to the next shiny object they see and forgetting what they were aggressively attacking moments before
  • Cloaked in a darkness around themselves – Unable to see how they are from an outside perspective.

How New Moon people can Relate to the other phases.

  • Low Energy phases are good – Including Balsamic, New and Crescent – This is when mind and heart are in alignment
  • High energy Phases are more Difficult – Gibbous, Full and Disseminating
  • Full Moon is a time to look inward and focus on personal reflection. The energy at full moon is the full expression of the energy exposed at the New Moon. It is more intense though.
  • Quarter Phases use to evaluate self.

SO . . . What Does all this mean about today?

For the New Moon Phase in Aries, 2020, we need to look at the Date of the New Moon (yesterday 3/24) and interpret the Sabian Symbols for the day.  I listed these in yesterday’s post

For the New Moon, the Sabian Symbol for the Sun is “A Triangle with Wings”.  Personally, this symbol has always bothered me. The Triangle imagery speaks of Illuminati influences. Even stronger for me was that when I first encountered the symbol, I noticed a character on a TV cartoon that my kids would watch all the time (Gravity Falls). And being the ADD type that I am, would often get pulled into the show.  Though he does not have wings, he did fly. He was an interdimensional being  who caused trouble and invoked chaos.

Well anyway, consider what this means to you.  You may just consider it and ask about what it means to you. You also might want to dig deeper. Look at your personal Natal Astrology Chart and compare it to the energetics of the New Moon yesterday. If you do not have a copy of your chart, you can get one by ordering it here:

And Something Fun

from wikipedia

Tolkien Reading Day is an annual event, launched by The Tolkien Society in 2003, that takes place on 25 March. It has the aim of encouraging the reading of the works of J. R. R. Tolkien, and the use of Tolkien’s works in education and library groups. The date of 25 March was chosen in honour of the fall of Sauron, in Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings.

New Moon in Aries – March 24, 2020

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Following the Astrological Calendar, the beginning of the year is the sign of Aries – which begins in April – right around the same time at the Spring Equinox – This  year March 19th. It can be anywhere from March 19th to the 21st, depending on when the earth actually gets to that point.

And remember the whole leap year thing. The astrological sign of Aries begins on March 21st according to most Gregorian Calendars and horoscope websites. If you are counting for accuracy though, you look to when the sun enters the sign of Aries. This year that happened around March 18th at 9:35 PM

Here is where it gets complicated. The actual beginning of the New Year is when the New Moon strikes in the sign of Aries. And that day is today March 24th, at 5:34 AM.

I am not generally a stickler for details, but the art of astrology is. Or at least the math behind it is. And I would like to spend some time this year thinking about this math as well as some details about calendars and the passage of time. How we pass our time here on Earth. And how it may differ around the world.

CALENDARS

Figuring out how dates and times work in astrology has confounded me since I began paying attention to it. And to place that date, it was in about 2011 – about the time I asked myself what the heck this whole 2012 end of the world thing was about. FYI I am still not incredibly clear on that. But it made me start paying attention.

Some of the things I looked at included the Mayan Calendar. The Kali Yuga. Western Astrology. Astronomy. And through this research, I found the Oracle Report. And the bottom of the rabbit hole truly fell out.

Anyways, the point of this post, and likely a whole lot more, is to take an intensive look at calendars, time and how we look at its passage. I am interested in how all of us pass time. All around the world.

I may tread lightly, or go deep. It will depend on how into it I get in the moment – and whether my kids interrupt my train of thought. Who says it will be my kids though. Many people I know claim that I have adult onset ADD. We will just have to see.

So for today’s lesson:

Tuesday March 24, 2020 5:34 AM

Taken from The Oracle Report, here are the astrological positions and Sabian Symbols associated with the planets on this date at this time:

Sun/Moon: 05 Aries – a triangle with wings

Earth: 05 Libra – a man teaching the true inner knowledge of the new world to his students

Chiron: 06 Aries – a square brightly lighted on one side

Black Moon: 07 Aries – a man successfully expressing himself in two realms at once

Uranus: 05 Taurus – a widow at an open grave

Venus: 21 Taurus – a moving finger points to significant passages in a book

North Node: 04 Cancer – a cat arguing with a mouse

South Node: 04 Capricorn – a group of people entering a large canoe for a journey by water

Jupiter: 24 Capricorn – a woman entering a convent

Pluto: 25 Capricorn – an Oriental rug dealer in a store filled with precious ornamental rugs

Mars: 26 Capricorn – a nature spirit (fairy) dancing in the mist of a waterfall

Saturn: 01 Aquarius – an old adobe mission

Mercury: 07 Pisces – illuminated by a shaft of light, a large cross lies on rocks surrounded by sea and mist

Neptune: 19 Pisces – a master instructing his disciple

A New Way of Looking at the  Calendar

And I have spared no expense at the production of this new calendar. Any close inspection will see that it is a Gregorian 202 calendar that I got from my bank that I was not using. So I cut it out in a new and unique way. I will be posting the lunar phase each month. Since I am not sure where this is going, this is where it starts. Basic lunar phases and times (where I had them). Most almanac sites are nice enough to give you the 4 cardinal phases (New, 1st Quarter, Full and 3rd Quarter). We know that the in between phases (Crescent, Gibbous, Disseminating and Balsamic) fall in-between. Getting an exact date and time is not quite so clear. But I am sure I will find a decent source to quote these times. Give me a week.

You can also see that there are some holidays filled in (The Easter Holidays for the most part). This is just the luck of the draw as that is what they put in this calendar. For my part, there is a lot to fill in.

RESOLUTIONS

Since we are on the New Year theme, I want to write down a resolution or two. In the astrology world, we do this now because:

  1. It is the New Moon Phase of the Year, a time to set intentions.
  2. It is the New Moon Phase in Aries, also good to set intentions (and start anything new)

So I Resolve to blog daily (Or as close to daily as I can) about the days of the lunar month. There are lots of things to talk about that have been either forgotten or lost or just unknown in each of our worlds. I will try to stay away from ridiculous government Official Days (Like National Tulip Day – It’s not that I know of, but I could not think of anything funnier). But if I discover or find an observance that has some significance to it (Like March 9th this year was Holi – a holiday in India that is pretty significant – 1.4 Billion Asian Indians are aware of it and only a tiny sliver of the 320 million people here in the US have even heard of it) I will try to make a point of it.

Somehow, I will also relate it to my garden. Times right now (with the Coronavirus offering us as close a view of the Zombie Apocalypse as we have ever seen) allow us to admit that being a little better Prepared is a good thing. And Astrogardens began paying attention to this.

So thank you for reading through this and please come back.

Shelter In Place

The Zombie Apocalypse is upon us. Governors across the country are telling citizen to stay at home. And more and more we are hearing the term SHELTER IN PLACE.

Personally, this term scares the shit out of me. It is used in times of dire emergency:

Toronados

Tidal Waves

Hurricanes

Terrorist Attacks

Invasions

And now the Coronavirus is being equated with this. I disagree. And want it on record what they are saying and how I believe this is not only a misuse of terms. But also a bizarre grab of power of the government over the people.

So in honor of this. I want to be sure that anyone who may want to know what the CDC says that Shelter in Place should mean. And decide what you think about the actions of the government.

Per the CDC:

Stay Put – Learn How to Shelter in Place

Sometimes the best way to stay safe in an emergency is to get inside and stay put inside a building or vehicle. Where you should stay can be different for different types of emergencies.
Be informed about the different kinds of emergencies that could affect your area and ways officials share emergency information. Ask your local emergency management agency external icon about the best places to take shelter during different types of emergencies.

Get Inside, Stay Inside

If local officials tell you to “stay put,” act quickly. Listen carefully to local radio or television stations for instructions, because the exact directions will depend on the emergency situation. In general you should:

  • Get inside. Bring your loved ones, your emergency supplies, and when possible, your pets,
  • Find a safe spot in this location. The exact spot will depend on the type of emergency,
  • Stay put in this location until officials say that it is safe to leave.

Stay in Touch

Once you and your family are in place, let your emergency contact know what’s happening, and listen carefully for new information.

Once you’re inside and in a safe spot, let your emergency contact know where you are, if anyone is missing, and how everyone is doing.
  • Call or text your emergency contact. Let them know where you are, if any family members are missing, and how you are doing.
  • Use your phone only as necessary. Keep the phone handy in case you need to report a life threatening emergency. Otherwise, do not use the phone, so that the lines will be available for emergency responders.
  • Keep listening to your radio, television, or phone for updates. Do not leave your shelter unless authorities tell you it is safe to do so. If they tell you to evacuate the area, follow their instructions.

Sheltering with pets

  • Prepare a spot for your pets to poop and pee while inside the shelter. You will need plenty of plastic bags, newspapers, containers, and cleaning supplies to deal with the pet waste.
  • Do not allow pets to go outside the shelter until the danger has passed.

Sealing a Room

  • In some types of emergencies, you will need to stop outside air from coming in. If officials tell you to “seal the room,” you need to:
  • Turn off things that move air, like fans and air conditioners,
  • Get yourself and your loved ones inside the room,
    • Bring your emergency supplies if they are clean and easy to get to
  • Block air from entering the room, and
  • Listen to officials for further instructions.

Once officials say the emergency is over, turn on fans and other things that circulate air. Everyone should go outside until the building’s air has been exchanged with the now clean outdoor air. For more details, read FEMA’s Guidelines for Staying Putexternal icon.

Cancelled – Due to Coronavirus Hype

Thanks to the full weekend of nonstop coverage of the 2020 Coronavirus update, life has been cancelled. Fr my own memory, I want to start a list of everything that I can think of that closed.

Just a short list of what this means:

Schools in Pennsylvania – Closed for 2 weeks by the Governor

Restaurants and Bars – Closed

Non Essential Stores – limited to 50 people

March Madness – NCAA Basketball – Cancelled

NBA Basketball – On Hold til further Notice

NHL – On Hold

MLB Spring Training – On Hold 2+ ? weeks

All gatherings of over 50 people – Cancelled

Churches – cancelled

Meetings and gatherings – Cancelled

St Patrick’s Day Parades – Cancelled

Non Stop Drinking and Debauchery for St Patty’s Day weekend – STRONGLY DISCOURAGED

Movie Theaters – Closed until further notice

National Guard in most states activated

Travel bans from China, Asia, Iran, Italy, Europe, UK and Ireland.

Both Canada and Mexico closing their borders

As the hype and hysteria set in over the weekend, so did the level of insanity toward shutdown and control. Governors across the country were changing their minds faster than they change their underwear.

They continue to go deeper and deeper as the headlines get bigger. Is it bowing to public pressure?

The Media and The Narrative

America is in a media war. It is an extension of the cold war that never ended, but shifted to an electronic front. The war between freedom and statism ended geographically when the Berlin wall fell, but the existential battle never ceased.

When the Soviet Union disintegrated, the battle simply took a different form. Instead of missiles the new weapon was language and education. and the international left had successfully constructed a global infrastructure to get its message out. Schools, Newspapers, Network News, Art, Music, Film, Television.

For decades the left understood the importance of education, art and messaging. Oprah Winfrey gets is. David Geffen gets it. Bono gets it. President BHO gets it. Even Corey Feldman gets it. But the right doesn’t.

Common Sense Does not win the day.

In the 21st century, media everything. And the left wins because it controls the narrative. The narrative is controlled by the media. The left is the media. Narrative is everything.

Life, Liberty and the Corona Virus

“Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.” ~Benjamin Franklin

Who might think that a couple of sniffles and a cold might bring into question our personal Liberties. But in a world where there needs to be a cure or a pill for every ailment, loss of control is the bane of the medical establishment and, worse, our leaders.

Friday Morning – CBS News (Local) 7:00AM

“Coming Up. Special Coverage of the Corona Virus Outbreak”

CBS This Morning – Starring Oprah’s best friend Gayle King – “We are dedicating the entire our to special coverage of the Corona Virus.”

As the talking heads behind the Glass Network-Logo table with CBS Coffee mugs open with a laundry list of the number of people in the US (by state) affected and dead attributed to the Corona Virus. SCARE SCARE SCARE!

This level of Coronavirus promotion went on throughout the day, with Breaking News, Special Reports, Whole News Reports dedicated to The Virus, and ending the day with a 20/20 Special Report on the Coronavirus.

Add to this it is Friday March 13, Schools in Pennsylvania are closed until the middle of next week. Grocery stores are being run over for Bread and Toilet paper. This is worse than the calm before a blizzard where everyone runs out to buy Milk and Bread.

Watching the hype non stop on the news, on the internet, in interactions with everyone in the community, we must ask whether it is truly a disaster, or whether it is another case of “Never let a good crisis go to waste.”

I will be updating here about the hype, the fear mongering, and utter insanity behind this SUPERVIRUS. Much to say. But even more to consider when looking at how you prepare yourself for it
