Happy Monday! What you focus on, what you believe, has a direct effect on what is happening around us. You have the power to make things great.
I somewhat missed the chance to wish the world a Happy Monday yesterday. I did post it, but only on my personal Facebook page.
And for somewhat good reason. I was in the ER with my son. Ten hours all told. And despite the necessity, I knew better. We were still under the influence of the Full Moon.
Full Moon Fever
Round she is, yet flat as a board. Altar to the lupine lords. Jewel on black velvet, pearl in the sea. Unchanged, yet e’rchanging, eternally.
Anyone who ever questions me about the meaningfulness of Astrology I ask the same question: Have you ever been in an Emergency Room during a Full Moon?
Our trip yesterday showed the whole Full Moon phenomenon is something to be considered. We arrived at 12:30 PM and were released and out the door at 11:00PM. Ten and a half hours of fun to be sure. When we arrived, I did not count, but did take notice that the waiting room was pretty full. I had to leave my son for a couple hours to take care of life back at home. I walked through the same area at about 5:00. I took a quick count of about 80 people sprawled out all over the place. When we left at 11:00, there were more.
Now I of course am aware of the effects of the full moon. I write an astrology focused blog that reports the lunar phases every day (usually – sorry the last 2 weeks have been tough). And a lot of what I write is influenced by the lunar phase. For instance, tonight we are in the Disseminating phase (just coming out of the Full phase). And Disseminating is about sharing and communicating.
So anyways, as I was sitting in the ER . . . waiting . . . I did have the time to come up with the Monday message. It came from the book I was reading. It restated a premise of the Law of Attraction, where your thoughts are things, and they have a direct effect on the world around us. Thanks to Sol Luckman for that. And for the chance to preread his next book, Get Out of Here Alive. I am only about 3 chapters in and have had to stop and ponder multiple quotes, stories and concepts. And I am only about 4 chapters in.
The quote seemed to work as part of a Happy Monday message, so I posted it on Facebook from my phone. It was only on my private profile, so it was not shared as wide. I will remedy that when this is published. It helps tie things together.
Back to the ER
The mythology and infamy of the Full Moon has been repeated and documented throughout history. Think of the word Lunatic – used to describe derogatorily, someone with mental illness. It was actively used during Victorian times to specifically describe the instance of criminality and mental insanity during the full moon. London police would commonly collect the “lunatics” from the streets before the Full Moon.
Wolves, and the whole pantheon of Werewolf lore, are closely tied to the Full Moon. Witches, Witchcraft, Wicca and much of the occult also follow the lunar phases and claim to elicit power and specific energy during the Full Moon.
And after the many times I have seen Full Emergency Rooms during the Full Moon, I am amused when I read about mainstream “science” trying to “debunk” the idea that the lunar phases may have a physical effect on the world around us. And that those who are especially sensitive to is may notice it even more.
Since most of my experiences with the Full Moon and the ER also have had the common element of psych issues with my children, I simply find it amusing. And I credit much of the reason for our ten-and-a-half-hour ordeal to the influx of Full Moon energy on people who got caught up in it.
The Full Moon Phase seems an obvious place to start learning about the lunar phases and their effect on the world around us. But only seeps obvious because it is the phase most of us remember. Because we see it in the sky and associate it with what we are seeing around us.
However, the lunar phases make up a cycle. And the New moon is the beginning of the cycle. That time about 2 weeks before the Full Moon sets the phase in motion. it determines the energy we are working with during that cycle. And thus, a better place to begin.
But that’s a journey for another day and probably a more expanded piece. I think it is important that we all pay more attention to these phases and cycles that are happening around us. And since the effects of each of the phases are often more obvious than other aspects, it is a good place to begin.
But as for how it might relate to our overpacked local Emergency Room, it was obviously horribly overcrowded. I have only been stuck waiting through one of those crowds once, after another one of my sons slammed his fingers in a car door and there was no way I could leave without x-rays. For this trip, they saw our need quickly and moved us back to a room where we could silently stare at the walls away from all the hubbub and insanity.
What Tuesday Brings This Week
As I noted above, today brings us a step away from the insanity of the Full Moon Phase and into Disseminating. The Moon is waning during this phase. Or in layman’s terms, shrinking. It will spend the next fourteen odd days getting smaller and smaller until it becomes new again.
For those of us living it, this is a time for talking and sharing. the event, the Full Moon, has brought the fullest expression of the energy for the phase. Now we can talk about it. Try to wrap our heads around what we have seen and experienced.
I often call it Tinfoil Hat Tuesday. A great time to think about all the literally insanity going on around us. And better yet, pointing out the more hilarious instances of things that have happened.
This lunar phase saw the election in the United States. We have seen heads exploding all across the spectrum. Is there a chance that this will allow us to slow down and reflect on what has happened? See it all for what it is?
Ask yourself some questions:
Am I better off with Trump as president?
Will he bring prosperity?
Will he bring insanity?
Will there be a civil war here?
Will there be world war?
I don’t know.
Who is John Galt?
Would he be happy with what the cabal has done to his shangri-la in Colorado?
I guess we will see. Buckle up folks. It is sure to be an interesting ride.
