“America is the most creative country on the planet, and that’s why we are the wealthiest country on the planet.” Peter Copses
I came across this quote this morning and it started my thinking. Ask yourself, why is America Great? What made us that way?
The quote was part of a meme on The Atlas Society Facebook page. The Atlas Society is an Ayn Rand fan group. Their mission: The Atlas Society promotes open Objectivism: the philosophy of reason, achievement, individualism, and freedom.
Funny part about it was in looking at the comments. There were quite a few. Over half of them were from committed leftists trying to debunk the idea that America is great or special or creative. And more, that any of this positive outcome was on the blood and backs of the rest of the world.
Why people on the left bother to visit a pro capitalist, pro liberty group is beyond me. I guarantee you that I am not cruising the Citizens for Marx, Jacobins, Mother Jones or Antifa groups. I have no interest in what they are saying or doing.
Creativity, though, is something we should explore today. It’s The Gate to the garden of all fulfilled desires day. And you can name this garden the USA. Most of the world sees it as such. For the past 270 odd years. we have been the land of opportunity. The Wild West. The place where you could earn your fortune.
Which all begs the question, What about all those other places makes them so much less creative than here in the USA? Is it something about the geography? The Politics? The Mindset?
My own opinion is that we started that way as a Nation. We created the perfect document in our Constitution and Bill of Rights to protect it. And people came in order to take advantage of our unique status. Land was cheap and the only thing stopping opportunity was a lack of desire. The American Dream was everyone’s dream.
Consider some figures:
Then also consider population:
USA – 340 Million – $78.8 Per Capita
China – 1.426 Billion – $13.53 Per Capita
Japan – 123 Million – $35.77 Per Capita
Germany – 83 Million $5.18 Per Capita
India – 1.429 Billion – $2.58 Per Capita
I point this out as it speaks to the mindset of the people of the United States. The GDP per capita for the entire world was $13.268. And you see, the US blows away the others in per capita. And actually, the USA only ranks 12th in the world. The other 11 are basically tax havens where people park their money or have non existent populations where rich people live (Monaco, Luxembourg, Qatar, Singapore, Cayman Islands, Switzerland).
But for success, look to the US and Japan. Among the largest economies, they are doing the best.
So ask yourself why?
And the answer lies in the mindset of the people and the economic environment to allow it to happen.
Imagine where China and India would be if they could harness the same kind of creative force seen in the US or Japan. And then ask what is stopping them. I would call it the slave mentality The populations will do the work, but do not have the mindset to innovate and grow. They haven’t found that gate to the garden of fulfilled desires.
I point to this out to all of you – friends, wise owls, constant readers. Where is that gate in your life. Can you see it? Can you imagine where it could lead? What is stopping you from going through?
I see the New Year as an opportunity to seek that path. The Eris energy and the retrograde and many other things might serve as obstacles or beacons as you seek your way.
