What’s In Store for the New Astrological Year?
The fascination with predicting the future comes from a very natural place. We all search for a sense of direction. When life feels open-ended or uncertain, the idea that there might be patterns guiding events can feel grounding. It turns the unknown into something that can be interpreted rather than feared.
Astrology fits into this need beautifully. It offers a symbolic language for time and experience. It divides life into natural cycles, each associated with certain traits, energies, and themes. Instead of seeing the future as random, astrology suggests that different periods carry different meanings—some better for growth, others for reflection, others for change. For this we have the signs of the zodiac and the Sabian Symbols to describe these specific energies at each degree.
A birth chart, for example, is often seen as a kind of personal map. Rather than strictly predicting fixed events, it’s used to understand tendencies, potentials, and timing. This shifts the idea of “prediction” into something more like guidance. It’s not just about what will happen, but how you might move through what happens.
Part of astrology’s appeal is that it connects personal experience to something much larger. The movements of planets become a mirror for inner life. That connection can make moments feel meaningful, as if they’re part of a wider rhythm rather than isolated incidents.
There’s also a reflective quality to it. Reading about upcoming transits or cycles encourages us to think ahead—about our choices, our relationships, and our goals. It invites us to engage with the future thoughtfully, as something they participate in, not just something that happens to them.

Each month I post the chart for the New Moon, as you can see above. I list the Sabian Symbols for each of the planets at the time of the New Moon. I will also point out any obvious points of interest to pay attention to throughout the month.
