February Ends
As you can see, there is a lot going on the weekend. Venus is turning retrograde and there is a double void (the second of which is long duration – good it’s on the “day of rest”). And all in the midst of the New Moon phase.
For me, I am just happy that we are moving closer to spring (which is closer to summer). Closer to shorts and barefoot weather and longer days. And my garden (which I still do not know how I will manage when I undergo knee surgery and recovery.

Elon returns to Joe Rogan
In the weeks before the Trump Election, podcaster Joe Rogan landed 3 of the most groundbreaking interviews of his life. Elon Musk, Donald Trump and JD Vance all sat with Rogan for about 3 hours each and did what no candidate in anyone’s memory had done. They talked . . . about everything.
After my lifetime watching political speeches and staged debates, this did what no other medium has done. It presented the candidate (and his closest supporters) as human beings.
You might think (in the case of Trump and Elon at least) that they were more celebrities than anything else. Super rich celebrities at that. And one of the criticisms of Trump is that he has nothing in common with the rest of us, because he is so rich. How could he understand the plight of the working man?
Given the format, two guys shooting the shit, the celebrities became just that. American guys talking about the big and the little things in our lives.
Now I could not tell you how many of the 54 million viewers of Trump, and 20 million for each Elon and JD then actually went and voted in the November election (and if they interview changed their vote). But I can say that his opponent’s largest podcast audience was less than a million views. Her 60 minutes interview (which it later came out was edited to make her look a lot less like a jabbering fool) was seen by less than 10 million.
The authenticity made a difference. Did it change the election outcome? Unknown. Did it change the way we view these people as leaders and as people? I would say definitely.
Last week, Elon Musk took another 3-hour stint on the Joe Rogan podcast. Watch it here if you like. I will be talking A LOT about this over the next few days because there was a lot to unwrap. If not, keep scrolling because this post is not done . . .
. . . It was a chance to catch up since the election. And after the last 5 weeks, so much needs to be talked about. And let’s face it. The way that the mainstream media reports what is going on, we do not know even parts of it.
Honestly, I have trouble playing/watching long podcasts. I am much more of a reader. I have trouble concentrating on both a conversation and anything else. So for me it is a partially wasted time-suck. For this one, I sped it up to 1.25 times. Not so fast I couldn’t catch everything, but enough to counteract Elon’s long pauses and speech issues. Between his accent and his difficulties communicating, he can be irritating.
Despite all that, my mind was blown. In fact, this will be the first of a few articles about subjects they discussed. My other problem with podcasts is that in a far-ranging discussion, many super important points are made. And the only way you know about them is if you listen to it all. I will never listen to it all again. And I want to delve into some of the subjects. Especially about the AI. But that will be later.
For nothing else, consider listening just to get an insider’s view of what DOGE is doing and the nitty gritty stories that are being left out the of the mainstream narrative about it.
It is pretty simple. The government is this enormous and incredibly inefficient monster of an organization. It is rife with stupidity, with pointless rules and regulations, with waste, with fraud. Agencies are tasked with often pointless and redundant work that should have ended years ago. But because of the system, just keep on going and going.
I am blown away by the reactions of the “resistance” toward this endeavor. Their heads are exploding. I just read a headline from the TV that the present amount of money saved or liberated by DOGE is $65 Billion. Someone was getting this money. And we need to know who. And we need to stop it.
The podcast was well worth the time I spent listening to it. Pay attention over the next week and I will delve into some of what they had to say.
Oh and BTW Venus is Retrograde
March 2, Venus went retrograde. This only happens every other year or so (unlike Mercury 3 times per year). And its effects are more Venusian. Pay attention to the following:
- Relationships – Long-standing issues could reach a boiling point. But it may not be permanent. Just some reworking.
- Past relationships – Watch for people from your past to come back in the picture. Again, this is reworking and it may not last. Just a visit. But watch for it.
- Spending may go off the rails. Venus is about both love and money. You have to take care during this time.
- Venus retrograde may dredge up past wounds, which could create new issues.
That’s the short list. It lasts for a little more than a month (until April 13). And Mercury will be going retrograde in the middle of it (on March 14th).
Keep your eyes open and your head out of the clouds.
