May 7, 2024 (No this is not an April Fools Joke, but remember the date)

The Boy Scouts of America is changing its 114-year-old name. The new sexually-neutral name –“Scouting America” — will send “a really strong message to everyone in America that they can come to this program, they can bring their authentic self,” said Roger Krone, the organization’s president and CEO. “Scouting America provides a welcoming, safe environment where youth can become the best version of themselves by learning from and respecting each other.”

When I heard this announcement yesterday on the radio, I was for a moment in complete disbelief. Then I shook myself and remembered that it is 2024 and we are in complete clownworld. And this was just another proof of that fact.

So I would like to remind everyone about exactly what the Boy Scouts of America were about. I have a couple old BSA manuals. I have copies from 1911 and from 1988 (that still used a painting by Norman Rockwell of Boy Scouting) both pictured below.

I would like to offer you the Introductions to these two Handbooks, as they represent the heart of the organization that helped raise boys into men, rather than help them “bring their authentic self.”

Sorry if these are a little long. But well worth the read.

Boy Scouts Handbook

The First Edition, 1911

Introduction

Every American boy, a hundred years ago, lived either on a farm or in such close touch with farm life that he reaped its benefits. He had all the practical knowledge that comes from country surroundings; that is, he could ride, shoot, skate, run, swim; he was handy with tools; he knew the woods; he was physically strong, self-reliant, resourceful, well-developed in body and brain. In addition to which, he had a good moral training at home. He was respectful to his superiors, obedient to his parents, and altogether the best material of which a nation could be made.

We have lived to see an unfortunate change….It is the exception when we see a boy respectful to his superiors and obedient to his parents. It is the rare exception, now, when we see a boy that is handy with tools and capable of taking care of himself under all circumstances. It is the very, very rare exception when we see a boy whose life is absolutely governed by the safe old moral standards….

Degeneracy is the word. To combat the system that has turned such a large proportion of our robust, manly, self-reliant boyhood into a lot of flat-chested cigarette-smokers, with shaky nerves and doubtful vitality…[we need to substitute] the better, cleaner, saner pursuits of woodcraft and scouting.

The Boy Scout Manual

1988 edition

(probably written years before that, but this is what I am copying from)

Today you are an American boy. Before long you will be an American man. It is important to America and to yourself that you become a citizen of fine character, physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.

Your Life as a Scout

Boy Scouting will help you become that kind of citizen. But also, Scouting will give you fellowship an fun.

Yes, its fun to be a Boy Scout! It’s fun to go hiking and camping with your best friends . . . to swim, to dive, to paddle a canoe, to wield an ax . . . to follow in the footsteps of the pioneers who led the way through the wilderness . . . to stare into glowing embers of a campfire and dream of the wonders of the life that is in store for you. . .

It is fun also to learn to walk noiselessly through the woods . . . to stalk close to a grazing deer without being noticed . . . to bring a bird close to you by imitating its call. It is fun to find your way cross-country by map and compass . . . to make a meal when you are hungry . . . to take a safe swim when you are hot . . .to make yourself comfortable for the night in a tent or under the stars. In Scouting you become an outdoorsman.

But Scouting is far more than fun in the outdoors, hiking and camping. Scouting is a way of life. Scouting is growing into responsible manhood, learning to be of service to others.

The Scout Oath and the Scout Law are your guides to citizenship. They tell you what is expected of a Scout. They point out your duties. The Scout Motto is “Be Prepared” – prepared to take care of yourself and to help people in need. The Scout Slogan is “Do a good turn daily.” Together, the motto and slogan spell out your willingness to serve.

Your life as a Scout will make you strong and self-reliant. You will learn Scoutcraft skills that will benefit you as you grow. In time, you will develop skills of leadership as well.

So pitch in! Swing into action! In your patrol and your troop you will have some of the best times of your life.

The 2024 Boy Scouts of American HAVE sent a really strong message to the world with their announcement today. Please go up and reread it. See if their “announcement” has ANY resonation with the words from the manuals of the history of the organization.

Or if what was said was just a regurgitation of DEI duckspeak from the political faction that is trying to “fundamentally change” our country.

Anyone asking what has happened to the latest generations (Millenials, Gen Z, Gen Alpha) and what may be in their minds would benefit from rereading the Scout Handbook. It tells the story of the kinds of things taught to the youth of America back in the 20th century.

Becoming a citizen of fine character, physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight is a far cry from becoming the best version of themselves by learning from and respecting each other.

But the New World Order is definitely NOT looking for citizens of Fine Character.

Pay Attention everyone. The fundamental change is here. And if you do not fight it, it will be here to stay.
