No Quarter Given

An arcane statement to be sure. Not one you find in your everyday speech . . . unless you are a devotee of Scandinavian mythology or read a lot of fantasy books that it. Personally, I had never heard it, with the exception of the song by Led Zeppelin, which you can enjoy below. And even that I had not paid attention to the lyrics.

But it came to my attention this week in a headline. And the only thing about it that caught my attention was that I didn’t know what it meant. So I looked it up:

no pity or mercy —used to say that an enemy, opponent, etc., is treated in a very harsh way The soldiers showed/gave no quarter to the enemy.

Now ask yourself where and why we see No Quarter. In the definition you can see the military side of things. And in the military this makes sense. Within an army, soldiers are expected to follow orders. Failure to follow orders could mean dire consequences. So punishments are often severe.

Take Bradley Manning. He decided that what we were doing in Iraq was wrong. So he gave confidential military documents to Wikileaks – and has been called a Whistleblower. The military response was to court marshal him and put him in military prison for 35 years . . . until President Obama pardoned her (since while she was in prison she decided she no longer wanted to be a man either).  Bradley (Chelsea) Manning received Quarter.

Then take Julian Assange, the person in charge of Wikileaks when Bradley Manning divulged classified information about US operations in Iraq – and Wikileaks published said information. They had to get back at Assange. They found a sexual case against him in Scandinavia where he was accused of sexual relationship with a young teenager. He sought safety from a “neutral” country Ecuador and spent a number of years holed up in their Embassy in London. Finally he left the Embassy and was imprisoned by the British for . . .  well something. He served a sentence, but is still in prison in London awaiting extradition to the United States for the leaking of military information. No Quarter for Assange.

In these two cases, also consider the source of the Quarter/No Quarter. In both cases, the US Military complex is offering No Quarter. Treason is Treason. THey are executing treason. But in the case of Chelsea Manning, Quarter given by . . .  the American Left. And consider the reasons for it.

Politics of the last 6 years . . . or more

The 2016 election of Donald Trump over Hilary Clinton ushered in the all out war between the political factions in the US. All for what? I often wonder. The question becomes which side will be / has been less forgiving? Let’s Consider some:

• The Clinton Body Count – approximately 51 people who died in questionable circumstances after having involvement with the Clintons – includes Seth Rich
• Jeffrey Epstein
• Gislaine Maxwell
• Edward Snowden

No Quarter

The 2016 election was brutal. How many shirts were sold declaring “Hilary for Prison.” Did anything happen to her? How many book deals? How many glowing interviews? She received Quarter.

During that same time, how many people have been left in the wake of the Trump Administration?

• Anyone that can be tied to Q
• The YouTube, Google, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter purge
• Steve Bannon, George Papadapolous, Roger Stone, Tom Barrack, Eliot Broidy, Michael Cohen, Michael Flynn, Rick Gates, Paul Manafort, George Nader, Alan Weisselberg

The Jury is out, but there can be no positive outcome here.

We are at political War in the United States. But no one knows the battle lines or who has the guns.

I am on the side of Freedom. The freedom’s promised to us the the US by our Constitution and Bill of Rights. And I am unwilling to give an inch on ANY of those freedoms. The question is whether either side of the political spectrum here acknowledges these freedoms.

I would ask you all to consider the question of Quarter here. And then ask yourself what the chances will be that you will receive quarter.

Is it for your present Vax status?

Is it for your right to free speech or religion?

Is it your right to own guns and defend yourself?

And what are the chances that any of the political factions here will defend these rights?
