Happy Monday! Make a list of things that make you happy and then plan your day accordingly. Have a great week!

What things make you happy?

It’s a question for the ages. And how many of those things are we doing throughout the day. vs How many things are we doing throughout the day that we do not like.

I see this as an important lesson for people to do. Consider the things you like and write them down. Writing them down is important.

It is like bringing them to life.

I like a good cup of coffee. For me that is easy. I go to my coffee pot and pour a cup. No going to Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks. Just straight out of the machine. Strong, Black, Hot. I can see the pot out in the kitchen from where I sit. Easy enough to go out and pour some more. In this I am lucky. I like the coffee that I brew better than anything else. Saves me a hell of a lot of money vs. buying it from some bougie coffee shop.

This is what I like.

What about you? Do you have your perfect cup of coffee? Can you imagine it? Where you get it. what you put in it. How it smells and tastes. Is getting that cup of coffee an experience? What about the experience do you enjoy?

Life is filled with seemingly simple decisions that have so much more complexity than we think about.

The Point

But the point of this exercise is to begin to focus on things that you like. And see what we can do to bring more of it into our lives.

If you are lucky then you enjoy your job. They say if you are doing what you love then you never “work” a day in your life. I have been lucky that when i have had “jobs” that they have been doing things that I like. I had one job that I seriously did not like. I needed a job and it presented itself. But it was drudgery every day for the six months I worked at it. Leaving work was like being released from prison. And after having experienced it, I will not repeat it ever.

I bring up work because it is often what we do most often. Unless you are independently wealthy, the money has to come from somewhere. So the idea is to find a job where you are making money doing what you like.

I had another job that I worked at for 7 years. I loved what I was doing. But I could not stand the people i was doing it for. I could go into work, stay in my office and do all I had to do and interact with my bosses as little as possible. It was a trade off. I truly enjoyed what I did. The money was good.

Eventually it ended, and that was a good thing. I found a better job – also doing work I loved. I have been lucky in that regard.

So Back to the List.

Try it today. List things you like. Put them in categories. Consider what parts of your life they may have an effect on.

Is your life entirely made up of the things you like? Probably not. But can you maximize the good things and minimize the bad?

We can hope.

SUN: 2 CANCER – A man on a magic carpet observes vast vistas below him

EARTH: 2 CAPRICORN – Three stained glass windows in a Gothic church, one damaged by war

Happy Monday! Let the world taste of your awesomeness this week. Have a great week ahead.

The symbol for the sun today is “a Man on a magic carpet observes vast vista’s below us.” If you were on a magic carpet, what might you see?

I am not going to lie. I love stalking my neighborhood on Google Maps. I am not a GPS kind of person. I grew up driving in Los Angeles. We had this magic book called The Thomas Guide. It was a map of LA and Orange Counties sliced up into pages and indexed.

As a delivery driver, it was a must to navigate the streets – and especially to find out side streets to use when avoiding traffic. The Thomas Guide and the traffic report every 8 minutes on AM radio, and the streets were mine.

Those skills make a smart phone and Google Maps as good as a magic carpet as far as navigation goes.

Birds Eye View

But other than that, consider what a Birds’ Eye View would show you in 2020.

It was interesting seeing the atmospheric maps of industrialized nations under lockdown. Think of all the pollution that we did not have to breath while businesses were shutdown and cars were not driving non stop.

Would you have noticed the fewer traffic jams? People spending more time at home and less time travelling around?

Would you have noticed other things moving around – maybe that were were intended not to see? Here is where I suggest that our government may have been planning things. Moving strategic assets. Fortifying bases of operation. There were certainly fewer trucks on the road, as the stores of Toilet Paper, Lysol, food staples and other things we were used to having on hand, showed.

Would you have noticed some old abandoned places that people and time have forgotten. Eastern Pennsylvania is filled with places like this.

There is Centralia – the town with a mining fire underneath it that has burned since 1962. I drove through it once in the early 90’s before they barricaded the road. It was a ghost town. When I drove through, they claimed that there were still about 10 people living there. I saw no one. Graffiti on the roads. Boarded up and burnt out buildings.

There is the Pennhurst State School and Hospital, originally known as the Eastern Pennsylvania State Institution for the Feeble-Minded and Epileptic. It has been abandoned since 1987 – after being closed down in 1978 for mistreatment of its patients. Now let’s just think for a few minutes about the political correctness of that name. Back in the 90’s I had the “pleasure” of riding bikes through the streets of Pennhurst. The roads weren’t completely blocked, but you got the impression that no one had driven down them in a few years. Today, the old asylum acts as a “Haunted House” every year during the fall. Think about seeing the sprawling campus from the air. Over 33 Buildings. 1600 acres.

The television show “Mysteries of the Abandoned” is a documentary series showing and telling the stories about places like this. Part of it is the mystery of what the place used to be. The other is documenting how far these places have fallen into decay and disrepair. Just an obsession of mine.

Would you have noticed the empty parking lots around shopping centers and large businesses. Did you see people walking around their neighborhoods and parks – getting out of the house for a few minutes of freedom?

In June, would you have noticed the uprisings in the towns and urban centers? Would it have been the fires and smoke bombs from the riots? Did you miss the statues that were knocked over and rolled through the streets? Do you notice the blight left behind by these gatherings? For me, I would imagine it like seeing cockroaches and rats scurrying around corners. Knocking things over and tearing open food containers.

Or would you have seen the greening of our neighborhoods? More people planting gardens and tending their yards? For better and for worse, this plandemic and forced lockdown has changed our world. Were the riots a way of shocking us out of our homes? Did someone get the paddles out because we needed to be revived? Or was it for even more systemic changes and implementing more onerous control over our lives?

It generally lasts over the course of 2-3 days, and since it follows the lunar orbit, twice a month. It is something to pay attention to. Happy Monday! Smile. Sparkle. Shine!

Going Deep – Back to the Snowjob

The sharing of my game Corona Live! was lots of fun and a great way to lighten the burden of the lamestream snowjob being blasted at us 24-7 during the Global Pandemic meltdown. This morning as I have just reached 47 “COVID19’s” and 32 “CORONAVIRUS’s” I can  see that the snowball continues to roll down the hill, getting larger and larger.
Much of the reason behind this game was to shine a light on what they are doing. The mind control games. The lies. The propaganda. The bias. All of it.We all SHOULD know about this stuff. Today, kids learn about the Cold War in text books (kind of – and only when they are actually in school). When I was in school, back in the 80’s, The Cold War had not caught up to the curriculum.
But we had Animal Farm and 1984. Kennedy was still offered Martyred status, so the Marilyn Monroe and LSD parties were not mentioned very often. Pravda was the ultimate joke of the world, showing outright lies and fabrications that were being told to the Soviet citizens – with no opposition allowed.
All of this going on, and what can we say about the “Free Press” in the USA? The “Free World” looked to the United States to find out the facts. And thinking “Free Press” meant that they/we were reading unadulterated facts, names like The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine . . . the list goes on and on . . .  were given prestigious status everywhere.

It has taken how long to learn about Project Mockingbird – telling us that all that “free press” we thought we were reading was really just a better written version of what was being served up in Moscow.

So how do we sift all the shit from Shinola? I would like to offer some examples. Bear with me. See if I can make it all make sense.

FAKE NEWS

With the 2016 Election, one of the most brilliant tactics of the Trump team was trolling the media with the moniker Fake News! And it was not a difficult tactic to drive home. The media had proved itself to be completely biased, worthless shill for yellow journalism for years. For the mainstream media, I do not think they even attempt to deny it. All he had to do was wait for them to misquote him, and voila, scream FAKE NEWS.
And since he controlled his audience – between his huge Twitter following and coast to coast rallies, it worked. It was like in the Movie They Live! When Rowdy Roddy Piper puts on the Sunglasses and sees all the propaganda signs all over the place. Tight in front of his eyes all the time.
So for many,  it was a wake up call. OMG CBS News is lying to me about politics. And CNN. And MSNBC. And ABC.
For me, one of the biggest in-your-face call outs of  Fake News came when Hillary became sick on the campaign trail. She was seen on television coughing and unable to catch her breath. She was sick. And this is not a problem. People get sick. But then, she lied. And the Media helped her. Watch this video:
I have seen longer versions. It was OBVIOUS that a script was written and delivered to all of the media sources about how to put a strong and happy face on the situation. And ALL the anchors read that script.
So you ask yourself a couple questions:
1) Are they doing it because it is what the talking heads believe and want? Are they good actors, or faithful servants?
2) Is it coming from higher up the Network Food Chains? Management? Ownership?
3) Are all of the networks reading from the same script? Is it a shock that there are ONLY 6 independent media sources? There used to be hundreds.
These questions alone are enough to take you down one hell of a rabbit hole, if you want to follow it. Most people wont. But there are other questions that you should keep asking. And it goes WAY beyond the election campaigns. It is how the media frames everything.
Let’s take a simple example with COVID19. The President has been making daily press briefings about the State of the Nation. So have most of the governors – at least here on the East Coast they do. And it might as well be like a Daily State of the Union speech. Trump talks for 1/2 hour, and they you have 3 hours of The Democrat Response – Usually beginning with Andrew Cuomo or Gavin Newsome – or around here the clowns from PA, NJ and DE (all democrats).
As we all know, The President brought up about an approved drug that could be offered as a therapy for people suffering from the Coronavirus. It is a medication called Hydroxychloriquin. Basically this is a synthesized version of Quinine, the natural and accepted medication that has been used for over 100 years to treat outbreaks of malaria. It is a boiled tree bark. Not pleasant tasting and difficult to dose. But it works.
Now, the President offers this up while standing in front of his entire medical team and pandemic team. He is not just talking out of his ass. He is presenting something that has been well discussed. The only problem would be that this medication is not yet FDA approved as a therapy for this particular illness. Does this mean it will not work? Nope. Just that there isn’t a specific regiment offered by the FDA about how to use it.
Once he mentioned it, Doctors all over the country began using it and testing different variations and combinations of medications to fight the effects. Even David Agus (the CBS National News Doctor in New York) claimed he was prescribing it to EVERY patient he was treating for COVID19. Even Rita Wilson (Tom Hanks’ wife) used it while she was sick in Australia,
Now here is the rub. Hydroxychloriquin costs about $150 per dosage in the United States (If you are in India, that cost is less than $10, but who is counting). If you were to simply use Quinine, the cost would be about $4. This will NEVER WORK with the medical establishment.

Fast Forward Last Weekend

If you ever want to gauge the playbook of the media (and this the political left in the USA) watch the weekend morning news. If what they were doing were not so serious, it would be hilarious. Saturday Morning on CBS (I have a statistical sample of 1 network as it is the one my wife prefers) between 7:35 and 8:10 there were 5 stories. 2 Stories were about local people who had COVID19 and survived. Both were administered Hydroxychloriquin, but they could not say whether it helped them fight the virus. Rita Wilson was interviewed, and she said that Hydroxychloriquin made her feel bad. A last story very specifically was a critical hit piece against The President for even suggesting an unapproved therapy. And then the final nail in the coffin about the Member of the Medical team who resigned/was fired because he felt that he was being pushed to certify medical manufacturers that he felt were Trump Cronies.
Versions of these stories were repeated throughout the morning – to force the messages Trump Bad. Trump stupid. Trump Corrupt. And this did not even touch the Bleach Comments.
you would think that anyone with a pulse could see the manipulation of facts. The seething BS of false emotions. All as a set up to force a false political narrative.

Happy Monday! “We Dance . . . We are the Dancers, We create the Dreams.” -Einstein

Dance, then, wherever you may be,
I am the Lord of the Dance, said he,
And I’ll lead you all, wherever you may be,
And I’ll lead you all in the Dance, said he.

Not sure where the Dance thought comes from today, but once it was in my head, I could not shake it. I think it comes from one of my favorite Mark Twain quotes:

Dance like nobody’s watching; love like you’ve never been hurt. Sing like nobody’s listening; live like it’s heaven on earth.” -Mark Twain.

Since it breaks the Happy Monday rule of not being positive, I never get to use it. Anyhow, it speaks to me in so many ways I will share it here.

I think about the movie Billy Elliot. Its the story of a young boy in working class England who wants to learn to Dance professionally. Not a popular thing for young boys to do. But he is following his passion. He is asked by a proctor after a dance evaluation to get into prestigious Dance School how the dancing made him feel. He answered that he didn’t know. “I sort of disappear. Like I feel a change in my whole body. And like there’s a fire in my body. Just There, flying like a bird. Like electricity.”

I also used the famous Matisse painting The Dance. I remember years ago I was in Washington DC. I visited the National Art Gallery, where there was a special showing of Matisse’s works. part of the exhibit was a larger than life-sized version of the dance in mural format. Imagine the dancers not in a circle, side by side. At the time, I had never seen the piece before. Or did I know anything at all about French Impressionist painting. But I always remember this mural.

Find Your Happy Place

Part of this process is find the place where you are most happy. Is that a location? A special Space? A room? A chair? Your bed? Or is it just a place in your own mind?

I often find it in music. There are songs that transport me away from the here and now into a much better place. Consider this:

I can always get transported into this song.

So your job for today is to find your happy place.
