Welcome to Spring
This weekend, Spring sprung. For me, truly reason to celebrate. Time to start my garden. Time to come back to life after winter.
I have said before, I am a summer person. And I often comment that Spring means little to me because it means we are still a couple months off from hot weather.
But for this year, I am celebrating. I am willing to accept whatever is being offered. So long as I can be out in the world to enjoy it.
As far as this time of the year is concerned, pay attention to all that is around you. I am in Eastern PA. The plants and trees are starting to awaken. I just saw Forsythia starting to bloom in bright yellow. (Note that this is not my picture, but I have seen plants like it in the past couple days).
I have seen Robins and Cardinals on my porches. The bird houses on my back porch all have chicks in them. The Canadian Geese have been echeloning across the sky. The world is coming back to life.
Poking the Lion
I have been feeling a certain energy over the past week. And its a little hard to put into words. But it’s a theme that I think we need to pay attention to. And it is that of poking the lion.
I will give you an example in my personal life and then relate it to the world.
My son is autistic. Given the state of vaccination and pesticides in the world in the past 30 years, this is not to be unexpected. And for those of you who do not live with it on a daily basis, I ask you to give me a little leeway here.
Is he severe? Depends on the day. He can communicate well – speaking was never his issue. The issue is what he communicates. As long as you are on his wavelength (and that would include all of his collections like coins, rocks, stuffed animals or pokemon cards), all is good. Stray far from that path (for example cleaning up any of these obsessions) and you are in for an E-Ticket Ride to the underworld.
The idea of poking the lion come into this discussion because our life completely revolves around it.
The saying Poking the Lion comes from the idea that you can approach a lion and he may not notice a thing. You get his attention . . . say poke him . . . and you may be in for trouble.
People have found out about this especially at zoos. I recall a story just in the last year where a man decided to feed a tiger. He stuck his arm in the cage with some food and the tiger bit his arm off.
Now in this case, who is at fault? Is it the tiger for harming the man? Or is it the moron who stuck his arm in the cage?
Applying This to the World Cage
Or is that the World Stage? Looking at what is going on in the Ukraine, ask yourself:
Who is poking the Lion?
Who is the Lion?
Who is in the cage?
Who is the Zookeeper?
Who are the people at the zoo watching all of this play out?
Look objectively at this whole situation and ask yourself who is really the aggressor?
Putin: What did he do? There is a territory. Call it Western Asia. Call it Easter Europe. It used to be called the USSR. Is he wrong for wanting a modicum of control of his western flank?
NATO – The North Atlantic Treaty Alliance. In place for one reason. To “protect” Europe from the Red wave of Russian Communism.
Ukraine – WTF who are they? They are a territory in between two political power alliances. And let’s face it. The history of the region is not pretty. Stalin played Scorched Earth with them during the depression. Then Hitler. The USSR for 50 years sucking it dry. Then back and forth. They say it is the most “corrupt” nation. You ask yourself exactly what is corruption. Is it the Russian Oligarchs? The Western power brokers? The Cabal?
The Cabal – Speaking of the Cabal. What part are they playing in all of this? And here is where the lion and the stick metaphor really comes into play. Which faction of the power/money elite is exerting influence? Does anyone know? The picture here puts some perspective on how this game has been played for longer than anyone alive might remember.
So I ask again. Who is the Lion? Who is holding the stick? Who is about to get bit?
In my little corner of the world back in Eastern Pennsylvania, there seems to be a whole lot less to worry about. My country is not being blown apart and taken over. I have a garden, a school district and a life to manage. My autistic son needs to find the right balance of medications so that his world is not crashing down around him. We need the same so that he is not destroying all that we have here. And then preparing ourselves for the Full Moon and the Vernal equinox and how they will affect our world. It never ends.
But please pay attention for a few minutes to the weirdness going on in the world around us. Whose E-Ticked ride are you strapped into?
You might want to figure that out and then figure out where you need to focus your attention.
Happy Spring!
