Today I had an interesting conversation on Facebook with one of my favorite Leftist friends. This one is amusing as he often makes good arguments for his lunatic viewpoints. In this conversation, we actually were in agreement.
It started after he posted a meme:
Being amused by it, as by and large, I agree with the principles, I quickly posted as a comment the following:
Being a good leftist, I was sure he would recognize it as Saul Alinsky’s rules for radicals. Much to my surprise, he just agreed with it (shocker). Commented that he thought is sounded like Sun-tsu.
After I giggled and let him know where it was from (he recalled reading it then, back in about 1985) I spent the better part of the day thinking about the depth of the information war throughout my life and the last hundred years or so. How often it is a war of stories. Even when it is part of a more kinetic affair.
In the case of my dear friend, he was trying to make some oblique accusation about the sides of the present kerfuffle in the middle east. For my life I could not figure what it was (nor did I much care). My point was simply the counterpoint that no matter what he was trying to indicate, that whichever side he was rooting for (somehow I think it was a Palestinian faction) was doing the same thing.
And that propaganda has been a powerful tool used by all sides.
Seeing it this way puts it more into the perspective of the 5D Chess that I have been talking about. There is very little that is linear about reality. And so often we are dealing with the massive intersection of so many different peoples’ narratives. There is a war being waged that we are only seeing pieces of. And usually not the same pieces that the person next to us or the one on the other side of the country are seeing.
The successful propagandist is able to seed their narratives in enough places in the same direction to influence enough people.
This is 5D chess in the information space.
