Return to the Pussy Hat Brigade
Remember 8 years ago after Trump was elected and the left planned the Women’s March? A whole bunch of mostly women (or wannabees) gathered in Washington after the inauguration and the pussy hat brigade began.
Many of them knitted or bought these ridiculous pink hats designed to represent a vagina. All to protest a statement made by Trump that was caught on tape and magically released during the election. Is it a shock that the person possessing the tape had the last name Bush????
Anyways, it is 8 years later, and Trump is back in the White house. Nothing so crude as the Pussy hat (thier name not mine) has come to pass. But the level of insanity is still there. Of course, this time, Trump is ahead of the game and doing all in his power to give them reasons to protest (I think Trump is still calling it winning).
Nothing so crude, though they are still trying. They think that they will create a groundswell of popularity to call themselves a resistance. So I would like to list some of the more interesting of them.
Sex Strike
This started soon after the election. Women came out in mass (I guess groups of 5 or 6) screeching that they would stop having sex while Trump was still president. I recall one woman calling for 4 years of abstinence because she refused to bring a child into the world while Trump was President.
Democrats Abroad
This is a group of people that is actively trying to boycott and company that donated money in support of Project 2025. It’s an impressive list. And since they are protesting these companies, it might be worth supporting them in counter protest. I noticed Coors on the list. I like the idea but they are still a no. Too many bad memories of college.
Funny thing is that these are American Expats. They live outside the US. I would think all the crazed nuts who threatened to leave the country (Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce, Kim Kardashian, Tom Hanks, Oprah, Bryan Cranston, Hillary Clinton, Alec Baldwin, Whoopi Goldberg, John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, Rob Reiner, Barbara Streisand, Cher, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Megan Rapinoe, Tom Hanks, Amy Schumer, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Bill Gates, Jane Fonda, Madonna, Mark Ruffalo, Kim Kardashian, Bruce Springsteen, George Clooney, Hunter Biden, Oprah, Robert De Niro, Samuel L. Jackson, Miley Cyrus, Travis Kelce, Bobbi Althoff, Rashida Tlaib, Stormy Daniels, Anthony Fauci, George Soros, Diddy, Eminem, Ellen DeGeneres, Sean Penn, Sharon Stone, Ashley Judd, Tommy Lee, Bryan Cranston, Billie Joe Armstrong, and Bono.) This was a list compiled by Andrew Tate and published by Newsweek.
Somehow, I don’t think any of them left. Bummer.
50501 — 50 protests, 50 states, 1 movement
Another Democrat party protest movement. They held protests on February 5th and on President’s Day February 17th. They protested everything from Elon Musk to the horror of the changes made to USAID.
I can’t say I remember if any of these protests actually amounted to anything. I recall the media interviewing prominent Democrat congresspeople with a crowd (about 20 people with signs) posing for photos. But that was it.
The other thing I remember was a lot of memes on Facebook like the one here with Trump’s picture crossed off.
Economic Blackouts and Boycotts
The group pushing for the economic blackout is called The People’s Union USA. I looked at their website and was pretty nonplussed.
“If we disrupt the economy for just ONE day, it sends a powerful message,” the group wrote on its website.
“The People’s Union is not just about resisting corruption, it is about exposing it. For decades, corporations, politicians, and industries have worked together to rig the system against the American people.”
The jist of this adventure was mostly due to the Trump administration calling for an end to DEI programs and companies around the country quickly jettisoning them. So these people are hoping to show them their might,
