July Morning

A year or so ago, a friend from high school posted about an obscure observance in Bulgaria (his wife is from there). It is called July Morning. Also it is named for the song by the 70’s rock group Uriah Heap. When I read about it, I had never heard the song and was intrigued.

Well, I listened and was . . . non plussed. But got a kick out of it because it was something I had never heard of.

This morning I woke up and immediately thought of July Morning when I saw the date. The sun was not up yet, so I went to go look for it. Unfortunately we were overcast. No sunrise today.

I listened to the song again. And was again non plussed. But I can say that I took part in another rite of summer. If you have some time to listen, go ahead. If not, I would say you are not missing much. If you like it, then dance a bit and enjoy the thought of another July Morning sunrise.
