Getting My Eris On
Call it Full Moon Fever, but I went on the attack on Facebook. I have been trying not to jump into political discussions and avoiding the conflicts that are so prevalent there.
But I saw an article that made the devil inside me raise its head. Call it my inner Eris.
As I saw and read this.I knew the perfect audience to share it with – The Standing Rock Protesters. So read it and I will tell you where I was coming from.
THE LARGEST MASS SHOOTING IN US HISTORY HAPPENED December 29,1890. When 297 Sioux Indians at Wounded Knee Creek on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota were murdered by federal agents & members of the 7th Cavalry who had come to confiscate their firearms “for their own safety and protection”. The slaughter began after the majority of the Sioux had peacefully turned in their firearms. The Calvary began shooting, and managed to wipe out the entire camp. 200 of the 297 victims were women and children.
Wounded Knee was among the first federally backed gun confiscation attempts in United States history. It ended in the senseless murder of 297 people.
The Second Amendment, the right of the people to take up arms in defense of themselves, their families, and property in the face of invading armies or an oppressive government. The Second Amendment was written by people who fled oppressive and tyrannical regimes in Europe, and it refers to the right of American citizens to be armed for defensive purposes, should such tyranny arise in the United States.
Wounded Knee is the prime example of why the Second Amendment exists, and why we should vehemently resist any attempts to infringe on our Rights to Bear Arms. Without the Second Amendment we will be totally stripped of any ability to defend ourselves and our families.
Standing Rock
Now I became involved with this group a few years back. Call it competitive research. It is a heavily left wing group that was fighting against . . . pipelines and the oil industry.
Now I am not defending the oil industry per se, But more pointing out the hipocracy of thsi group.
The Standing Rock Protests began specifically to protest a specific oil pipeline that was being extended across Native American Lands in the Dakotas. The Native Americans were opposed to this due to people wanting to build a pipeline across their lands. And to their point, if they do not want it, this is THEIR land. The US Government has spent how much of its existience taking from the Native Americans. IMHO, If they oppose it, then they oppose it. And there is not a whole hell of a lot people can do about that.
But this is where the conflating starts. The “Standing Rock Protesters” are, by and large a left wing funded group of gadflies and luddites who will oppose anything the fossil fuel industry does. And if you want to have some fun, just do some research about who is funding them. They shipped thousands of protesters in to the Dakotas to physically protest the pipelines that were being proposed. Call them the Greenpeace of the Dakotas.
My reason for following the group at all was to watch what they were doing. I had made the mistake of commenting on some of their posts. And even the most innocuous of comments that slightly opposed what they were saying would be followed by massive flames and verbal and physical threats. Not nice people at all.
After Brandon came in, cancelled the Keystone XL pipeline and capitulated to the global left’s plans to destroy the American oil and Gas industry (look at your Gas Pump and Gas Bills to understand the result of this effort), all of the protesters went away. They WON!
But they are all still around looking for another fight. And all too often, they congregate in this group – 123,000 strong.
The Eris Moment
I saw this post and knew that there was nothing better to use to troll them. Everything possible to mess with their heads. The Group was started to help protect the rights and the lands of the Native American population in the Dakotas.
What better way to cause appoplexy among a group of Leftists than t defend the Second Amendment to them in a way that makes them eat their words.
And I have to say it was a brilliant success. It split about half andf half between people who eyes were exploding vs people who read it and understood the point of defending the right to bear arms.
You often wonder what attracts marginalized groups to the left. African Americans. Latinos, Asians, LGB’s, Native Americans. And the Globalist Left knows that they have an active crowd to feed.
All I know is that I have been laughing my ass off at the chaos that ensued in the comments.
