I have to say that the Happy Monday Message this week really has had me thinking.

“Only those who attempt the absurd will achieve the impossible.” Its a fun quote. It is attributed to Albert Einstein. But where I saw it was picture attributed to Dutch artist MC Escher. It was shared on Facebook and I liked it. It made me think.

The world right now seems absolutely absurd. And by that I mean Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland absurd. Not in a good way because the Red Queen is screaming “Off with their Heads” all over the place.

We are 100% in Clownworld. And at times it looks pretty out of control.

I have spent a lot of time thinking about what I need to do to prepare in case everything goes sideways. I also usually think this way a lot in the Spring because I am also planting my garden and planning for food storage later this summer.

So anyways, last week I republished a survey from the LDS Preparedness Manual. If you missed the article, read it here:

The survey was a great gut check to think about all the things you should be thinking about to be prepared should the shit hit the fan (SHTF). And honestly, I looked at my present situation and I and my family are not prepared. We have pieces of the puzzle. But honestly, the picture is far from clear.

As I mentioned, the LDS Preparedness Manual is a gem, with incredible amounts of good information. So I am offering some more. It is another way of looking at your present level of preparedness to see where you are and consider how far you need to go to be prepared.

Are You Ready?

I am guessing that many are not. We live a comfortable life in the USA. I believe many in the Western World are the same. A couple years ago I read a series of books about life when The Shit Hits the Fan. Getting Out: A Post-Apocalyptic EMP Survival Thriller (The EMP Book 1). You can find it on Amazon as an ebook.

I enjoyed it because it was set in the Philadelphia area. But also because it realistically depicts life going sideways in a very scary way. And makes you think about what you might do if it happened today. I recommend it!
